We met the very modern way — online, through Hinge — and quickly discovered something surprising: we lived just one block from each other. What started as a swipe turned into long walks, favorite neighborhood restaurants, and a shared life rooted on the Upper West Side, where we’ve lived throughout our entire relationship.

Over the past four and a half years, we’ve grown together in all the ways that matter most — traveling, setting goals, and cheering each other on along the way. One of our proudest moments was running the New York City Marathon together in 2022, a reminder that we’re at our best when we’re working toward something side by side. Maggie is the one who shows up with Gatorade and waits on the sidelines during Christian’s runs — rain, snow, or shine — and Christian is the one who always insists on picking Maggie up from the airport after her work travels, even when a cab would be reimbursed.

We got engaged in July 2025, and while New York will always be home, we wanted our wedding celebrations to reflect where we come from and the people who shaped us. That’s why we’re gathering in Manila, where Christian’s family and roots are, and again in Upstate New York, close to where Maggie grew up — bringing together the places and people that mean the most to us.
